Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® Inc. (OBE) notified California that it will permanently close its Los Angeles-based facility as of Dec. 31, 2024. Company officials say the move reflects OBE’s efforts to optimize its operations.
OBE filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice on Nov. 5, 2024, alerting the state that it intends to shutter the facility at 5631 Ferguson Drive. The closure will result in the termination of 113 employees. According to a company statement, impacted employees can apply for OBE jobs at other locations and are eligible for severance and participation in the Employee Assistance Program.
Company officials say OBE will continue to serve the Southern California market from its existing facilities in Fremont, California, and Phoenix. OBE has 87 manufacturing, distribution and service locations worldwide, including 24 in the United States.
